BMABA Safeguarding Review Guidelines

Refresher Monitoring & Reporting Process

The association recognises the importance of ensuring qualifications, grades and other professional competencies (i.e: Safeguarding Refreshers etc) are regularly updated and recorded.

GENERAL ASSOCIATION POLICY AND PROCEDURE

The association conducts an annual appraisal of it’s websites, marketing material, safeguarding provisions, insurances and procedures. This is conducted as follows;

  • April – Group Cover insurance reviews and renewals
  • June – Membership / association-wide procedure and policy reviews
  • October – Safeguarding provisions and policy reviews

All association documentation is issued with relevance to its year (i.e: BMABA Safeguarding 2018-19) which ensures there is a definitive ‘expiry’ on every document or policy. Where the same document is retained and edited, a clear ‘first published’, ‘revised’ and ‘next revision’ date is published and this is tracked via our CRM to ensure compliance.

INDIVIDUAL INSTRUCTOR CREDENTIALS

All instructors must provide proof of grade when initially joining the association. On an annual basis when their renewal is due, the association updates it’s records regarding what pieces of evidence are in-date, and which are expired. This includes, but is not limited to, an instructors;

  • Insurance
  • DBS Check Status
  • Safeguarding Qualification
  • Instructor’s License
  • First Aid Qualification

We also have an annual checklist which instructors must ensure they are considering and actioning, which details the need to keep the above core elements in date and reviewed regularly. This too is tracked via our national records database, and our bespoke CRM.
